Piatnik Playing Cards

I like some of the commemorative decks.

But for lack of funds, I would have bought the Spies, Heroes of German Resistance, French Resistance, JFK and probably some others but actually bought only three Russian-themed decks.

1993 VEF-221-1 World Band Radio, Unboxing and Using 1st Time in 20 Years

As am also into radios as much as I am into watches so here's my 1993 VEF-221-1 World Band Radio, Unboxing and Using for first time in a couple of decades in a Russian-language video.

More info is via that link above but I am also going to note a few things here.

The VEF-221-1 is a world band radio by virtue of having 3 SW bands in addition to 1 LW, 1 MW and  1 FM band.

It is basically a post-WWII transistor radio but it has some things going for it - it has an automatic frequency control feature, a noiseless tuning on FM feature (FM band is provided via some microchip) and it still works at 24 years of age.

Panasonic Stereo Radio Cassette Player RQ-SW88V

To go on with my catalog of own radio and radio related equipment, here is another entry about my Panasonic Stereo Radio Cassette Player RQ-SW88V Shockwave.

It does have a radio with an AM and FM band but it is primarily for listening to cassette tapes and it is pretty advanced as far as portable cassette players go.

It has a TPS aka tape program sensor which allows to fast forward or rewind by a specific number of songs (up to 3).

It also has a metal "heavy-duty" type shell.

In the video below I play some cassettes through my car stereo and show how you could use it to play cassette tapes in your car.

In another video there is a review of it in Russian, starting with its AM/FM radio.

Here's How to Listen to Cassette Tapes in Your Car...

The video is in Russian but here is a recap in English.

And here is a vid in English too.

A way to listen to cassette tapes in your car and even on the go: a simple solution.

Suppose you have an old portable cassette (plus) radio player ("walkman") and an older car stereo with an AUX input like me, then you're all set!

Just use a double end 3.5 mm jack cable to connect the headphones out on your player to the AUX input socket of your car radio, and you can play your old cassettes like me and even on the move too.
