The ONE Odin's Rage Binary Time

To catalogue another watch from my collection.

And it is a LED watch of some year ago (definitely pre-Apple watch) - the ONE Odin's Rage Binary Time

I belive Odin is some kind of Norseman deity.

Above, the time is 16:10; below, the date is February 28.

Billie Ray Martin - Your Loving Arms - Original (1995)

Russian Language Watch Forum - Часовой форум Watch.ru - Worst Watch Hobby Forum... In the World

[the text below is actually a letter from an anonymous reader of my Russian language blog that I received recently and took the liberty to translate and publish here because I too had similar experiences with the site mentioned in the letter - Blog Admin]

BEGINS

Unfortunately, the Russian watch forum - forum.watch.ru - has recently degenerated into a vile and ugly resource where, besides the majority of decent forum users, there are sadly a lot of trolls, informers and flamers, as well as moderators and administrators who violate all the laws of decency, and also their brown-nosers mainly form the ranks of the foreign intelligentsia both far and near, and many just very sick people (and often not in the good sense of the word).

The Market section is clogged with gray and black resellers duping unsuspecting noob buyers into buying sub-standard, bruised and dropped "luxury" watches, factory theft watches, gray market specimen, exhibition samples, and all too often even 100% fakes at the prices of new elite watches.

The forum is also a grazing ground for scores of scammers, and not without success.

The number of defrauded people on the forum has long gone into the tens and hundreds, and the sums taken from forumers - into hundreds of thousands if not millions of rubles, but the forum administration - in their all-consuming pursuit of illicit profits - does nothing to protect the members of the forum community and to compensate them for damage.

One of the forum administrators - Expert - is in particular notorious for bending rules as it suits him, issuing violation points at will in line with his personal dislikes, for cultivating his gang of forum rats, and interpreting the points of the so-called Rules as he wants.
However, the real violations go unpunished.

The administration and owners of the forum profit from watch lovers, since it is precisely the posts of watch lovers and all forum users that provide cash flows to the forum, views and clicks of advertisements, a high rating in search engines; however, in return, the forum users have no rights but only obligations to the “administration”, who scoffs at them, considers them to be “dumb cattle”, can arbitrarily delete their posts (protected by copyright, among other things), can block access to their own personal account, including their own photos, can collect their personal information (e-mail addresses, passwords, IP-provider addresses) which then becomes the easy prey of scammers, and even in individual, but very frequent cases, can block their access to the forum forever, including their own personal accounts, photos and other resources.

In addition, the administration does not respond to requests from members of the forum, does not satisfy their rightful demands and even refuses to provide information about the legal and actual addresses of the administration and owners of the forum, although by law this information should be posted on the site itself and be accessible without the need to demand it.

ENDS.

Below is the kind of future that awaits forum.watch.ru if it doesn't mend its ways soon.

From the Bottom of the Oceans - Neptune New in Collection

My watch collection has a new addition in the shape of this Vostok Amphibia Neptune, or just Neptune.

This is a proper Vostok factory Neptune as opposed to Meranom's Neptune which may have better detailing especially on the dial but is also twice as expensive.

Counting this Neptune as a variant of the Amphibia, this makes it already the fifth post-Soviet Amphibia in my collection (see the collection listing on the right).

The bezel is something to like, though it's bi-rotational and doesn't click.

People have been complaining about bracelets on Neptunes, so be warned. Me, I found no major issues with mine, except that it is on the short side, any thicker wrist would require additional links.

Neptune (Latin: Neptūnus [nɛpˈtuːnʊs]) is the god of freshwater, the sea and horses in Roman religion. He is the counterpart of the Greek godPoseidon.

There is even a serial number on the back like on limited edition watches.

First impressions are entirely positive.

In the dark.

Diverse (not so) divers.

And all over again but in order of unboxing.

The set.

Mako's lunch - watch of the day February 08, 2020

Mako has run down him some lunch - won't go hungry today... or maybe it was yesterday.

Some fish tins from Portugal and the watch of the day itself which is one of my newer additions to collection - my Mako XL.

And the tins are quite fancy, especially the one bearing the name of 1943 and quoting a collection of some selected events that took place in 1943 (a very eventful year obviously) - Portugal ceased a base to the Allies and Mick Jagger, Jim Morrison and Robert De Niro were all born in 1943.
