Winter Time, Pocket Watch Time

Suddenly have this craving to use and carry a pocket watch

Maybe it's to do with winter, as wristwatch checking is impractical in winter, especially when layering but maybe it's something even deeper.

I have many pocket watches but here is my newest one; these two probably still remember what a pocket watch is for, RIP Grandma Liz.

And here it is with my Opinel No. 8.

More pictures will be posted later.

The ONE Odin's Rage Binary Time

To catalogue another watch from my collection.

And it is a LED watch of some year ago (definitely pre-Apple watch) - the ONE Odin's Rage Binary Time

I belive Odin is some kind of Norseman deity.

Above, the time is 16:10; below, the date is February 28.

February 28,

Highlights: a mineral crystal, and an all stainless steel case.

From the Bottom of the Oceans - Neptune New in Collection

My watch collection has a new addition in the shape of this Vostok Amphibia Neptune, or just Neptune.

This is a proper Vostok factory Neptune as opposed to Meranom's Neptune which may have better detailing especially on the dial but is also twice as expensive.

Counting this Neptune as a variant of the Amphibia, this makes it already the fifth post-Soviet Amphibia in my collection (see the collection listing on the right).

The bezel is something to like, though it's bi-rotational and doesn't click.

People have been complaining about bracelets on Neptunes, so be warned. Me, I found no major issues with mine, except that it is on the short side, any thicker wrist would require additional links.

Neptune (Latin: Neptūnus [nɛpˈtuːnʊs]) is the god of freshwater, the sea and horses in Roman religion. He is the counterpart of the Greek godPoseidon.

There is even a serial number on the back like on limited edition watches.

First impressions are entirely positive.

In the dark.

Diverse (not so) divers.

And all over again but in order of unboxing.

The set.

Orient "Kamasu" aka Mako III Limited Edition - only 2000 in World! Now in collection

It seems I am on a roll as regards adding (affordable) timepieces to my collection, and here is a 2018 Limited Edition Orient RA-AA 0007A09A Mako III aka Kamasu!

As per usual, this post is heavy on pictures and light on words... just turn on your visual perception.

After unboxing... however I should say upfront the box is not a Limited Edition box, just what the store had.

The reference... which is RA-AA 0007A09A

Limited Edition!

Only 2000 in the world and only 70 in Russia! ... and only 1 in my collection!

The blue dial is something special... mother of pearl (MOP), I believe.

Differences from other Kamasus in the series include: the mother of pearl dial, different hands, bezel, sapphire crystal, made in Japan and, of course, the limited edition inscription and a number out of 2000.

The gold-plated bezel looks good also... means you can wear the watch with gold rings on the same hand without committing a style crime (as in combining stainless steel watch and a gold signet).

Focus on the dial.

And now proper wrist shots.
