Gizmodo: My God-Awful Year With the Apple Watch

Somebody's God-awful year with an Apple Watch - link to Gawker article with a very negative review of same.

Words like those are music to my ears. 

Me, I hate the Apple watch and all other "smart" watches but the Apple watch in particular and wish it to flop.

As regards electronic watches, only old-school stuff or maybe G-Shocks or similar are for me, the rest of my horological interest is in mechanical watches.

I think Apple will fold one day, even if it seems impossible to imagine at this time but the luster has already gone as has the veneer.

Medvedev's Apple Watch

Echo Moskvy reports that Russia's Prime Minister (second in command to Prez Putin) Dmitry Medvedev was seen last week sporting an Apple watch (unless it is some other such device).

He is known for his tastes in sports-styled electronic watches and his likes of Apple products in particular, and once was entertained by Steve Jobs himself when he visited California as President of Russia in 2009 or thereabout.

Overall, it it is unlikely to add to his popularity as he has virtually none and is mostly seen as a clown and a figure of fun, though probably not harmless.

Apple - Apple Watch - Introducing Apple Watch

I am not convinced yet. In fact, I have yet to buy my first Apple product. Will the Apple Watch be that? Hardly.

Also, I see they are calling it Apple Watch. Before that they were referring to 'iWatch', is this Apple Watch the iWatch? 

However I liked the bit about different straps, bracelets, including leather straps and steel mesh and link bracelets and the quick strap/bracelet change system -- easier than on a Panerai :) 

The Verge: Smartwatches No Disruption to Mechanical Timepieces

An article in the Verge says smartwatches -- an i-watch and all -- might soon come but will be no disruption to mechanical watches.
