Somebody's God-awful year with an Apple Watch - link to Gawker article with a very negative review of same.

Words like those are music to my ears. 

Me, I hate the Apple watch and all other "smart" watches but the Apple watch in particular and wish it to flop.

As regards electronic watches, only old-school stuff or maybe G-Shocks or similar are for me, the rest of my horological interest is in mechanical watches.

I think Apple will fold one day, even if it seems impossible to imagine at this time but the luster has already gone as has the veneer.

Problem with Thumbnails in Blogger's Popular Posts Gadget

I couldn't help noticing that there is a problem with pictures displaying incorrectly in the Blogger's Popular Posts Gadget when you tick "thumbnail". 

It fails to make a thumbnail of a picture that is inserted in a post via url (not being a link to Google's Picasa or Google Photos) from elsewhere on the Internet, that is, not uploaded to the post directly from computer.

Instead it displays a full-size picture in the Popular Posts gadgets which messes everything up.

Also, video thumbnails are not showing. 

The problem has existed for the past 4-5 days probably after Google's most recent updates. 

For this reason I had to un-tick "thumbnail" in my Pop Posts gadget. 

Pobeda ZiM 2602 Lada Edition

Here is another late Pobeda by ZiM.

This one is featuring a lada car on the dial which is the Lada VAZ-21099 sedan.

The watch is powered by the Pobeda 2602 movement in a late ZiM version. However, I have no movements shots at this time.

McMuffins in Car

A couple of McMuffins for breakfast recently, a double Egg McMuffin and a double Fresh McMuffin.

Serving suggestions

Tasted horrible and stale, by the way. But ate them anyway.

Double fresh McMuffin now.

When serving don't forget to cover table steering wheel with  a paper napkin.

It says there (above) in Russian: "Fresh solution for your breakfast needs".

Cataloging my radio equipment.

Here comes my Sony 6CD 2008 Ford Car Radio.

It is a CD/MP3 player, FM and AM radio, 6 CD changer, an auxiliary port, etc..

The rest is in the video below, note that I clumsily review it only from point of view of an amateur radio fan.

Also, as I noted in the video above, the radio itself very capable for a car radio I have been using it to do my very amateur FM and AM scans and also some DXing on the Medium Waves.

I even got a QSL card on the strength of my reception using this radio. 

So it deserves to be on list of my radios.

More photos of my Sony 6CD

Apparently my 2008 Sony 6CD Ford Car Radio has some DSP.

DSP stands for digital sound processing and has been recently used on many quality consumer world band radios possibly providing better tuning, reception and sound quality.

I wonder if the DSP on my car radio is the same DSP.

CORRECTION:
The DSP on this radio does stand for digital sound processing, however DSP in modern world band radios  likely stands for "digital SIGNAL processing". Not quite the same thing.
