New in Me Colognes: Chevignon For Men Cologne, Opinel No. 8 Knife and French Breakfast

Here is my newest bottle of cologne, here pictured with a late French breakfast in Moscow (at night almost), a bottle of Chevignon For Men Cologne, an Opinel No. 8 knife.

The stupid Google blogger uploader again reversed the order of my pictures, the Google shit pile and Microshit are one as good as the other one, and have been interfering with me for years, the latter via its crappy Windows 10 which a freaking service now not a product so has to update all the time and working worse with each subsequent update; but let's go back to the pictures which I don't have time or stamina to rearrange.

And it also happens to be my scent of the day today.

Peter Jacques Band - Walking on Music (extended) - memories?

Feel like I know or should know this from somewhere, some causal connection but can't remember when, where or how or even why or what for.

As they say (they do?) the beauty of early onset Alzheimer's is that you don't remember today who you abused yesterday (hey, looking at you Uncle Joe B.)

Sorry to be so random today but it's just the way the mind works isn't it.

My Opinel No. 8

Today your job will be to look at pictures of my pocketknife - Just my Opinel No. 8 pocketknife.

If you like it, please comment.

And now with my newest pocket watch

Winter Time, Pocket Watch Time

Suddenly have this craving to use and carry a pocket watch

Maybe it's to do with winter, as wristwatch checking is impractical in winter, especially when layering but maybe it's something even deeper.

I have many pocket watches but here is my newest one; these two probably still remember what a pocket watch is for, RIP Grandma Liz.

And here it is with my Opinel No. 8.

More pictures will be posted later.

Watch of the Day is Trench Watch Zlatoust

No reason but watch of the day today happens to be my Russian early 20th century style Zlatoust Trench Watch or Wristlet.

Meant to represent pocket-to-wrist watch conversions; I have had it for close to 4 years already.

Also, known as the Saucepan watch.

Today's Noir: Violent Saturday (1955) - Crime/Drama/Film-Noir - Lee Marvin, Victor Mat...

Today's noir movie.  A "Splash of Color at the End of Noir Film Era".

Except it's not true noir as, first, it is in color which makes it, I think, a neo-noir film and one of the earliest at that and, second, while everything goes bad for the gang as noir canon prescribes it's not true to the noir canon in other respects, in particular, in that there is too much going on with respect to some other characters in the movie and for some it ends with a happy ending, so the focus was not on the ill-fated caper, and also there is no femme fatale either.

But still a good viewing.

Is Heinrich XIII Reuss Best Dressed Alleged "Coup" Leader Ever

German secret state police says foiled a coup plot which frankly sounds pretty ridiculous already; however, what's more interesting is the dress of the alleged coup leader, Heinrich XIII Reuss who may or may not be a prince.

Apprehended in some splendid tailorings, isn't he? Unless it's Germany's fashion police.

He is already in danger of become the best dressed prisoner of the state ever.

Also, I can't help thinking that I have seen either this sport coat or another one like it recently on one of the classic menswear sites, I think.

What's more, Reuss appears to be very much a Bernhardt Roetzel lookalike.

Coupcore? Anyone?

Everything as the styfo doctor ordered: a striking tailored sports coat with good drape, a neckerchief ("ascot"), reddish cords.

Kerchiefs, Bandanas, Neckerchiefs and Other Non-Tie Neckwear

Kerchiefs, Bandanas, Neckerchiefs and Other Non-Tie Neckwear

Here is an about 70 x 70 cm square kerchief aka bandana worn by myself.

Using this knot which I found to be easy to learn and quite practical for my purposes.

Wear it like a neckerchief like that (below)

Way to tie Soviet pioneer tie, this knot can also be used on a kerchief / bandana worn on neck, and it's basically a square knot.

Ways to tie an "Ascot", borrowed from Putthison, the scarf for it should be quite long, probably over 2 meter long for wrap-around varieties

Somebody stole my bandana idea - though I tie a better knot, I think.
