Important to remember at all times that what you see in a rear view mirror is behind, and not ahead of, your vehicle.

That was a joke (with more than a grain of truth in it).

Because nowadays we are so used to looking at small (cell phone) screens that occasionally, if one is not careful, one mistakes the picture in a rear view mirror for what is one is driving into.
