Japanese Garden in Moscow in Autumn

Japanese Garden in Moscow in Autumn.

Here is a Japanese styled garden in late September, the famous Japan Garden at the Moscow Botanical Gardens in Moscow which is closing soon for the winter so yesterday I dropped by and took some quick pictures.

And here is a look inside that Japanese themed structure.

The dumb Google blogger uploader again reversed the pictures which were in sequence but I have neither strength no desire to re-arrange them properly.

Truly, everything Google touches turns to stupid, not forgetting its fake search engine only good for throwing up low quality ads.

But back to the views of the garden which is rather more pleasant than discussing the giant *whatever* of Google in all its iterations, including Youtube, of course.

The trees with red leaves are actually proper Japan sakuras.

Some of the Sakuras were planted by various Japan prime ministers as was the one below for example.

Toast Sandwich

Should I try this one ?

Leaves are turning...

The leaves are turning color ... but not yet full fall colors here in Moscow as the majority are still green.

Another Day, Another... Restaurant

Here is what else is going on in this Blogger's life. I am in a grey wool tailored jacket (semi-canvass too for those in the know).

A recent lunch at a local beer restaurant, and a new blog post entry in My Restaurants series.

The restaurant is a beer drinking establishment primarily so not much in the way of choice as regards food NOT to accompany beer or vice versa.

Not much choice in the beer section of the menu either, as far as I am concerned.

They are into mainstream pisswasser staples and I only drink craft and microbrewery.

However, it was not about beer drinking this time.

So we went for two Russian salads, cod cutlets with mashed potatoes, and some other fish, mackerel I believe with baked potatoes. Some red Spanish tempranillo wine for me.

For desserts, a slice of Esterházy cake each.

3000 Ruble per two which is about 40 dead presidents.

Moon Zoom Sept 2021

 Moon zoom in September 2021.

A near full moon some time in September 2021 at night too.

Again using my P900 in a Moon mode.

Also, in-built coloration effects, what's the proper name for them.

Approximately, 70x magnification, I believe.

Jean-Paul Belmondo Rest In Peace

The great French actor Jean-Paul Belmondo died yesterday.

As I have stated on this blog and elsewhere, I have enjoyed his movies for a long time.

And it just so happens that I watched Breathless for the first time a couple of weeks ago which was playing at my local cinema.

Obviously it's a great movie by the famed director Godard and one that was Belmondo's breakthrough and marked the proper beginning of his acting career.

It's one of the earliest, and maybe the best, movie in the French New Wave cinema.

I guess it's about how to live the last few days of your life with total abandon focusing what you do best, i.e. crime, on the part of the male protagonist, and a dose of love.

However, I am also a great and unashamed fan of Belmondo's commercial cop (or should I say flic) and thief (voyou ) movies.

And this is my personal favorite L'Alpagueur (aka The Hunter Will Get You).

With a very effective Bruno Kremer and featuring a great score too.

And here is another one of a series of his commercial crime movies from the late 70s-early 80s, noted for Belmondo using a burst-fire mode Beretta 93R to a great effect.

Henry Silva is in it too.

RIP the great actor.

Docu Time:Super Size Me

Here is something to watch.

A documentary about McDonalds in America that is good enough to semi-watch on the background like while doing a bit work on your desktop computer.

The point is valid and well documented, however the documentary seems to be itself "supersized" for the message it tries, and succeeds, to put across.

However, at this point and due to a change in circumstances, am considering to eat more fast food, not less.
