Winter at Moscow Zoo

About a month + back, in February 2024, on a nice sunny and suitably cold winter day with lots of snow, was passing through the Moscow Zoo, and here are some quick photos.

Didn't pass by on a chance to eat out at the zoo, Zoo Canteen, a basic canteen dinner.

April 3, 2023 - Lunched on Chinese

 On April 3, 2023, chased some errors errands of no consequence and lunched on some local rendition of Chinese, ordered and was served a bowl of beef noodle soup, a plate of Singaporean noodles and a pot of green tea.

The venue was Tam Em, a small Chinese place at certain location in Moscow.

A dish of Singaporean rice noodle with chicken or maybe it was pork, I forget already since it wasn't today.

A beef noodle soup, also with some Chinese mushrooms I think it was.

Portions are quite big, 400 and 500 gr

Think I'll be seeing the inside of this place again quite soon, when I get my next Chinese urge.

Breakfast Americain at Miratorg Steak & Burger in Moscow

Cafe culture lives on for me - as in avoiding eating at home and welcoming opportunities to eat at cafes and such - here is what we are (I am) reduced to in terms of eating out in Moscow, in view of the latest Western provoked unpleasantness in the world: my recent breakfast at Miratorg Steak and Burger place here in Moscow, one of.

They call this American breakfast and I like to eat american so I went for it.

Two fried eggs, some tossed salad with cucumbers and tomatoes, a burger and an extra bun.

"American" is just a name here not a description of type but it was more or less good; and though it is breakfast it can be had all day long.

Yes, even though it's called American, it's nothing like the sh*t Yanks have for breakfast.

Cafe Culture and Georgian Cuisine, Red Wine and Khinkali

The 2022 summer goes on, and so does my street cafe dining, and the summer has been pretty warm so far in Moscow, especially in the second half, about a month already with temperatures at about 30C, which is conducive to cafe culture and in fact makes it imperative to stop at street cafes, at least in my experience, especially if the place has a sun tent or something.

It wasn't today; but the order of the day when it was was some 500 ml of Georgian red wine...

And some khinkali, a kind of meat-stuffed dumplings, traditional Georgian, very tasty when they are good, and not so when there aren't.

These are cooked ones.

And the other three are cooked and fried for a little difference in tasting experience.

These shoes are not made for walking (much).

Unfortunately, the khinkali were just middling at the place, though still eatable, but by no means great.
