Spotted woodpeckers at my country residence

 Here is a couple great spotted woodpeckers that are live at my country place, occasionally feed on my sunflower seeds

 Here is a first, for me, a turtle dove... or a collared dove... in any case one of the Streptopelias. 

Actually scratch that, it's a passenger wood pigeon.

Scored using my trusty, but getting old, Nikon P900 in birdwatching mode.

Lives near our country place.

Ducks on Ice

Ducks in February can feel the coming of the Spring, especially when February is rather warmer than the average.

Using a bird watching mode, the one on my P900.

I like water with ice too...but usually something much stronger that water and lots of ice too.

Birdwatching Mode: Eurasian Jays Sighted

In a bird-watching mode now, and here are two Eurasian Jays sighted in Moscow earlier this week.

My first sighting of them in Moscow, I have and see (and even feed) plenty of them at my place in the country but it's a first time sighing in the city.

 

Too bad I didn't have with me my dedicated bird watching kit mainly consisting of a Nikon P900 with its superior zoom and it even has an in-built bird watching mode.

These exposures are achieved with a Sony RX100 m2.

Eurasian Jays at dacha

Here are some Eurasian Jays shot... with a camera... at dacha.

I threw some sunflower seeds and they are finding and picking them up off the ground.
