Old and New Arbat - Streets of Moscow

Streets of Moscow continues...

Mobile phone pictures of Moscow's Old (Stary) and New (Novy) Arbat streets on December 29, 2014 just before the New Year.

Old Arbat first in wintry conditions, like minus 10 Celcius - nice.

New Year stalls selling souvenirs also food, including expensive sturgeon caviar -- I saw it.

New Arbat now... Moscow's famous New Arbat high-rises -- two rows of them, dez rez and expensive too.

The House of the Book book store on Novy Arbat.

Very blue skys on December 29, 2014.

Streets of Moscow - Paveletsky Railway Station

More Streets of Moscow in phone photography...

Monday (Dec 22, 2014)'s pics... the subject is being at Moscow's Paveletsky Railway Station and on streets around it.

Exiting said station onto Paveletsky Square which unfortunately is all under construction (which has been going on for decades already).

A major busy street leading past the station... lots of lit up buildings.

Downtown Moscow December 19, 2014

More late night mobile phone photography in my Streets of Moscow series.

Tonight's walk was in the center of Moscow, near the Moskva River which, as it turns out, is apparently brimming with fish -- more about it later.

Looking along Prechistenskaya Embankment at the Kremlin in the distance.

Ditto.

From the bridge over the Moskva River.

Tsereteli's controversial Peter the Great monument (which might have been Columbus previously) smart fix'ed.
