Spring street scene in Moscow

A spring street scene in Moscow today... at Rechnoy Vokzal Metro station.

Under blue skies. +9C today, plus record high pressure (explains the blue skies).

It is from here that you take a bus to get to Sheremetyevo-2, one of Moscow's international airports.

Who's hungry?

Old and New Arbat - Streets of Moscow

Streets of Moscow continues...

Mobile phone pictures of Moscow's Old (Stary) and New (Novy) Arbat streets on December 29, 2014 just before the New Year.

Old Arbat first in wintry conditions, like minus 10 Celcius - nice.

New Year stalls selling souvenirs also food, including expensive sturgeon caviar -- I saw it.

New Arbat now... Moscow's famous New Arbat high-rises -- two rows of them, dez rez and expensive too.

The House of the Book book store on Novy Arbat.

Very blue skys on December 29, 2014.

Streets of Moscow - Paveletsky Railway Station

More Streets of Moscow in phone photography...

Monday (Dec 22, 2014)'s pics... the subject is being at Moscow's Paveletsky Railway Station and on streets around it.

Exiting said station onto Paveletsky Square which unfortunately is all under construction (which has been going on for decades already).

A major busy street leading past the station... lots of lit up buildings.

Downtown Moscow December 19, 2014

More late night mobile phone photography in my Streets of Moscow series.

Tonight's walk was in the center of Moscow, near the Moskva River which, as it turns out, is apparently brimming with fish -- more about it later.

Looking along Prechistenskaya Embankment at the Kremlin in the distance.

Ditto.

From the bridge over the Moskva River.

Tsereteli's controversial Peter the Great monument (which might have been Columbus previously) smart fix'ed.

Vodny...

Moscow street photography -- Streets of Moscow.

Strictly mobile phone photography today -- in (somewhat) and (very) out of focus.

Kronstadt Blvd near Vodny Stadion Metro Station in the north of Moscow on Sunday December 14, 2014, wet snow, early evening, getting pitch dark... in 30 minutes.

Nice power pylons, are they not?

Out of focus 1 -- dancing lights.

Entrance to an outdoor market -- food, cheap clothing, Chinese knockoffs aplenty...

Out of focus 2 -- my mobile phone does a Monet impression... or is it Manet? ... anyway I wish it was Money.

A newly opened Vodny Shopping mall -- bottom.

Vodny Shopping Mall -- top.

Stary Arbat

More Moscow street photography from me... to continue my Streets of Moscow series.

Stary Arbat today, also known as Old Arbat or just Arbat Street, a pedestrian area close to center of Moscow.

Approaching Stary Arbat... you can see the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Building.

As usual the bright September sun interferes with my point and click photography... and does it even from behind some clouds.

The Foreign Ministry building towering above others... actually it is one of the Seven Stalin Sister skyscrapers (plus the eighth "sister" in Warsaw, Poland, -- the Palace of Culture and Science).

Now looking down Stary Arbat a major pedestrian and promenade area.

Victor Tsoi wall...

This is one of the lanes leading off Stary Arbat looking back at it.

Approaching Novy Arbat now from Stary Arbat.
