Vostok Signal 2612 w/ mechanical alarm movement

My Vostok Signal watch featuring the Poljot 2612 movement which is a mechanical alarm movement.
Wristwaches with mechanical alarms are something of a rarity. In fact, very rare nowadays, especially as far as affordable models go.

1992 5000 Zambian Kwacha Banknote

My banknotes and various other legal tender.

A 1992 banknote -- k5000 - 5000 Zambian Kwacha.

I think it is a beautiful banknote.

African nations' paper banknotes are among the most good looking... even if the exchange rate to major currencies is very low.

The eagle is the fish eagle on the obverse.

Some macro.

On the left is a reminder that it is a Lion.

"Thomas De La Rue and Company Limited"

The fish eagle again.

Unfortunately this note is no longer legal tender as in 2013 there was a rebasing of the currency and the new Kwacha is now legal tender.

Riverside Green - Made in the USA: Shinola

Automotive expert Bark M. on Shinola watches (link below).

Made in the USA: Shinola

It's great that America makes watches again but...

...these are analog quartz watches and in my personal hierarchy they are below purely mechanical watches and even digital electronic watches.

There's still Timex and if you look you can still find some models from some years back with quality Chinese Seagull mechanical movements, such as ST25.

Also Shinola cases are most likely made in China anyway.

No 2016 Invicta Watch Calendar

VreMax: New Invicta 2015 Watch Calendar: On the Invicta website there is now their new 2015 watch calendar available to view and download. Invicta calendars are quite striking...

As I wrote in the post above in late 2014 Invicta released another spectacular watch calendar for 2015.

However I can't help but notice (with much sadness) that there hasn't still been the 2016 Invicta calendar but we are already well into 2016. Hey, what gives?

1990 Agat Stopwatch 4295V

Stopwatch time...

Here is my 1990 Agat Stopwatch 4295V.

BNIB, aka brand new in box. Also NOS, aka new old stock.

Bought in 2013 for RUB 600.

This is a mechanical stopwatch, one-hand, for use in measuring time intervals with a summing function.

Works as intended.

16 ruby jewels.

Manual in Russian.

Also mentioned it in the Russian-language watch forum in the thread about Stopwatches.
