Luch 2609 Wristwatch

Mechanical wristwatch LUCH (read: Looch) 2609, made by Minsk Watch Factory in 2001.

Bluish-greenish face.

And

Hands with what appears to be a Luch emblem also looks somewhat like Mercedes' three-legged "star".

Back and a strap which says Eurotex and Genuine leather which may be true.

129

Here it is Luch' own 2609 caliber movement, marked: BY 2609 and the Luch emblem.

It is a rare (-ish) movement as it went into production late and wasn't produced for a long time. It was subsequently replaced by the Chinese standard movement (2650) for some time, which incidentally was also designated 2609. And now the Luch factory has no 26 mm caliber movement in its watches, the only mechanical caliber it still has is the small cal. 1801.

More views on the movement.

Manual below.

Luch wristwatches offter low prices, high precision and reliability.

Awarded a Bromide Leaf!

Date of manufacture: 110101 that is January 11, 2001 -- right after the extended New Year holidays (which bodes well for quality of course)

  1. Hi
I've just bought a Luch and was expecting there to be a 2609 calibre in there, but there is a ZYT Chinese standard movement.
I thought it might (probably) be a franken but reading that they were replaced with the Chinese standard movement I'm now not so sure.
Do you have a link or any other info' that verifies that Luch used the Tongji movement and on when, for how long they they used it and from which factory they sourced these movements from.
    Thanks

    1. yes, luch did use tongji and not just any but marked ones supposedly coming from reputable sources like maybe seagull factory.

I remember wanting to get hands specifically on a luch with a proper tongji

However, as to link, there isn't much but there is some on russian watch forum http://forum.watch.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=192932&d=1323945547

      and post http://forum.watch.ru/showthread.php?t=95232

as to the timeframe it must be late 90s or early 00s.
Now Luch only has a 1801 which is not interesting enough for me )

    2. Thanks very much Blogger 3133.

The Chinese movement does actually vaguely resemble a 2609.

If you're interested the watch is here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Watch-LUCH-manual-wind-16J-Made-in-Belarus-/173690663288?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=jEshMQ5ZGXF5l4GLgUcl%252FEu%252Bk3I%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc

    3. @Blogger 3133 and everyone talking about the original 2609 movement. I just happened to but watches in lot which includes this exact same model with 2609 movement. Surprisingly I wanted to get some information about this watch and thanks to this page and you guys I got a lot of information. I knew nothing about this Watch until I received it as a non working watch but you know what with little winding it started working. Have set the time right now and will check tomorrow morning for its accuracy. Though the seconds hand, back case, belt all need to be fixed. And glass has crack and need to be replaced. But I am more than happy with this rare(only now I understood after reading this article)master piece
