A new arrival to my collection of radios, a Panasonic RF-3500 E-9K.





One of the few low-end models of consumer radios by major manufacturers that still come with a shortwave band.

Quick review:

Appearance good.

Construction solid, good plastic, nice nobs and controls.

Nice scale, or tuning dial, in English and apparently in Russian using Latin letters.

Reception on FM is very good, on shortwave however couldn't get anything while trying under less than favorable conditions for shortwave reception - during daytime from a concrete apartment block, using just the collapsible antenna. MW and LW are depopulated here in Russia so no use even trying.

Fake Casio F-91W

Here comes from my collection: a fake Casio F-91W watch. 

It is a fake because it fails two tests: press bottom right button for 3 sec should write Casio; press all three button should indicate all possible segments.

This one doesn't do it. 

Also has funny lights in place of backlight, and the module probably is all wrong, go ahead watch the video, see for yourself.

Also, there is some shoddiness typical of fakes but not in your face.

You probably won't be able to tell it as a fake on somebody's wrist straight away.

Extremely Rare. Zarja Jump Hour, Cal`;2206.Pensa Movement.

Only 1500 of these watches were ever produced.[Possibly less]. One of the reasons they are so vanishingly rare is because they are very delicate, even in general setting operation. And are extremely difficult to repair.

The movement has a strangely constructed dust cover. I have not shown pictures of the movement, as i don`t want to disturb it too much. In fact, this is one of the few watches in my collection, i do not intend to wear, because of its vulnerability.

The watch, itself, is in simply stunning condition, and running and setting perfectly.
I must thank ,once again, Slava for a seamless deal, one of many over the years
