At the Cinema Museum

This blogger is into cinema and movies in general - the evidence of which you can find here and here - and so naturally this writer couldn't pass by the Cinema Museum here in Moscow, and here are some pictures:

Some merchandise and books - not too cheap.

Sergei Eisenstein's study is now here.

Japanese motifs - Eisenstein was interested in Japan and Japanese culture and at some point was even learning Japanese, some of these things were sent to him from Japan.

Steel tube furniture - original Bauhaus by Marcel Breuer - looks very contemporary, even if it is from the 1930s.

It is Eisenstein's own furniture.

Some titles in Eisenstein's library.

Also, he had quite a lot of artifacts from Mexico.

A period Soviet made radio.

Cartoon exhibit

Stills that were used in some Soviet cartoons.

Ну, погоди!

Баба Яга против.

Some theory in Russian.

Film montage station.

Soviet montage theory developed by Eisenstein is still the corner stone of cinema everywhere; just as the Stanislavsky method (aka the Method) is that of acting.

The Cranes are Flying, Grand Prix at Cannes in 1958.

Some film cameras.

"Cine-automat", a device for taking combat footage in WW2.

The recording unit was taken from an American bomber.

That's all for now. More soon!
