Beer Walk on August 12 - 4 Beers and 25,000 Steps and 15 km

Beer Walk on August 12 - 4 Beers and 25,000 Steps! And probably about 15 km!

Yesterday we had a long beer walk, in fact a whole trek, and by "beer walk" I mean a walk where we trek through scenic locations here in Moscow but I personally also drink some beer on the go - and of late - like since three years ago - I have only been drinking craft and microbrewery beer and almost always a new one each time with very few repeats.

Appropriately, things were kicked off with a 0.5l dose of breakfast stout.

The Brewlok Yaga Breakfast stout with heavy coffee notes and 6 abv.

It was quite nice for the type but I can't say that breakfast stout is my favorite style in craft beer.

The breakfast stout was followed soon after with a currant saison style beer, a red currant sour ale.

I think it was good again for the type but that I should have chosen some other style for my second beer as by that time I wanted something sweeter and less sour.

Still it drank quite nice and resembled some mild red wine. I think it was matured in wine casks.

Some views from the location where I thus consumed my second beer and was feeling some effects in a pleasant mild way.

Grasses at the Moscow Botanical Garden through which we were walking at that point in time, having passed through the Ostankino park.

A picturesque pond in August - right near this beautiful location I was pleased to relieve myself by emptying my bladder under a tree - satisfying needs in nature and in the vicinity of trees is supposed to be very healthy and good for you and good for the environment too.

Japanese Garden.

Hours.

And now here it is - beer No. 3.

A peach flavored IPA by Bakunin Brewery.

I think  I mentioned it already once on the blog but here goes again: having tasted over 150 craft beers from all over world in the past 3 years, at this point I have come at the conclusion and am of the opinion that Russian craft beer is the best beer in the world. End of story.

Now, this place below looks like a good place to photograph my fourth beer of the walk - and the last one!

Gose with yuzu.

By this time I can't say that I cared that much whether it was with Yuzu or something else.

However, it was a pleasant enough gose style beer with yuzu if a bit on the sour side again.

And finally it's dark already and the beer walk is over.

Proof: 23441 steps, I guess it's about 15 km.

I liked the older Health app on iPhone much better than the current one.
