David Kleinfeld, Carlito's Way

This is not going to be a character study of a movie villain, and one of the greatest movie villains at that, but is just to say that I have been warming to Kleinfeld's style in Carlito's Way as portrayed by the idiot - and only an occasional above par - actor Sean Penn.

So Sean Penn is obviously an idiot and much overrated, and most of his roles and movies are total and irredeemable flops... however his Kleinfeld was great in De Palma's Carlito's Way.

And he had great style... or whoever was in charge of dressing the characters did.

Such panache... or whatever it is

Is Heinrich XIII Reuss Best Dressed Alleged "Coup" Leader Ever

German secret state police says foiled a coup plot which frankly sounds pretty ridiculous already; however, what's more interesting is the dress of the alleged coup leader, Heinrich XIII Reuss who may or may not be a prince.

Apprehended in some splendid tailorings, isn't he? Unless it's Germany's fashion police.

He is already in danger of become the best dressed prisoner of the state ever.

Also, I can't help thinking that I have seen either this sport coat or another one like it recently on one of the classic menswear sites, I think.

What's more, Reuss appears to be very much a Bernhardt Roetzel lookalike.

Coupcore? Anyone?

Everything as the styfo doctor ordered: a striking tailored sports coat with good drape, a neckerchief ("ascot"), reddish cords.

My Fan Barbour Lookbook

Bing thinking about a Barbour jacket or two, one for town, one for country, so here is my fan Barbour lookbook.

Note, pictures not mine, pulled from the Internet, hat tip to their owners.

BTW, I myself am still undecided as to whether Barbour is "based or cringe", and whether am more likely to buy if it's a majority opinion "based" or "cringe"... get it?

 First, PRO (more or less)

Nigel "Brexit" Farage, looking good!

Military looking barbours

Looking beautiful in a Barbour, Lady Di... and she did already

Simon Crompton, a menswear icon, he replied once to me on Instagram

Guy from Newcastle, former military, told me once some 25 years ago over a drink or two, the Argies shot down a couple of chopper-loads of these Barbour-clad SASs when they went in to land on the Malvinas or wherever it was 40 years ago which I guess makes Barbour even more interesting and storied and contributes to Barbour's notoriety.

Spicy girl's hubby or whoever he is now.

These are also said to be Barbour... but... where is the patina... no wax just 60/40 cloth

Second, CON

How not to style a Barbour jacket from some random larper plying his wares on the Internet, for some reason, he thinks he's got something to sell fit-wise.

More will be added

Kane and Lynch in Style

Two sometimes stylish hoodlums from the Kane and Lynch series of two video games.

A definite preference for suits there though not worn in a very classic menswear way.

And of course, Lynch is based on Waingro ex-Heat (1995).

1980s Giorgio Armani, Versace Fan Lookbook

Here is my fan lookbook of Armani's early 1980s designs but also at least one Versace.

While number 1 is definitely Armani, some others are I think Armanis like one below.

An Armani shawl color suit, rather funny looking.

Eric Clapton wearing what I strongly suspect is another shawl collar Armani which looks very cozy... but maybe it is a similar looking Versace.

American Gigolo

Pastel monstrosity... no, no... a beautiful Armani suit on Don Johnson, ex-Miami Vice
