Watch of the Day is Trench Watch Zlatoust

No reason but watch of the day today happens to be my Russian early 20th century style Zlatoust Trench Watch or Wristlet.

Meant to represent pocket-to-wrist watch conversions; I have had it for close to 4 years already.

Also, known as the Saucepan watch.

Watch of the day

Here is my watch of the day! (Actually pictures dated January 5, 2020).

Still wearing my Zlatoust military!

Soon will be a year that I have been wearing as my daily watch.

I want already to buy something new but for lack of funds it will have to do for some more time.

Watch of the Day Zlatoust and Space

For watch of the day here is my Zlatoust Military Style wristwatch and some space exploration artifacts.

What we have here is pictures from the Time and Space Exhibition in Moscow's Space Pavilion at VDNKh.

Some exhibits are from the collection of Dmitry aka Rastafar80 a forumer over there on watch.ru, moderator of Russian watches there.

I have more pics and maybe post them here in a separate thread as soon as I get to process them.

That space suit glove wears an Omega could be first Omega is space owned by some US astronaut - not sure about this one.

And a mock-up of ISS Mission Control.

And of course two watches by Konstantin Chaykin, an independent Russian watchmaker, - they cost a fortune each.

Zlatoust 1930-40s Military Style Wristwatch - New in Collection

Here is a new arrival in collection:

A  Zlatoust 1930-40s Military Style Wristwatch, 195 AIZh 2.810.084 (195АИЖ2.810.084).

Description:

Weight: not more than 0.15 kg.
Movement: mechanical with manual winding.
Diameter of the mechanism: 24 mm.
Number of jewels: 17.
Functions: hours, minutes, seconds
Vostok 2409
Shockproof
Accuracy: -60 +60 seconds per day.
Power reserve on one winding: 35 hours.

The watch is in the Russian military style of the 1930s and 1940 which was already conservative at the time.

Popular for its size and weight and also the case shape resembling a small cooking or sauce pan with handles and that's how such watches were often referred to "kastryulia" aka "cooking pan" or "sauce pan".

The winding crown is very good to wind, very handy aka grippy.

Here are more photos, first using a Nikon P900.
