Here is another of our photo-walks through the Arbat neighborhoods in the month of October 2021 in Moscow.
First, one has to have a bite to eat.
A late breakfast - early lunch - two salads - a salad called dressed herring or even literally "herring under a fur coat" and a "Japanese" salad with imitation crab plus a cup of coffee.
The place is Grechka Lab deli-cafe. The dressed herring was actually very good while the Japanese salad just reasonably good.
Yours truly aka "pieces of a person" and two salads and a cup of chai kofe.
The old sign was uncovered and restored on this building.
The sign of Bakery No. 20.
Some new statues nearby.
The two liberators.
Encounter at the Elbe.
House No. 27 where Herzen lived and now houses the Literary Museum.
???
Property No. 34 in Sivtsev Vrazhek - Leo Tolstoy himself lived in it, and the property is mentioned in War and Peace.
Architect K. Melnikov house which he built himself for himself and his family.
However, fences and other structures impede the view.
This is a fully wooden building clad with gypsum to imitate stone as per ancient tradition in Moscow as it was built in 1823 and will soon mark 200 years.
Italian embassy is housed in a very beautiful building.
Property No. 10 in Chisty Pereulok - pseudo-Gothic style ca. 1908.
Prechistenka.
Wooden building, property No. 9, where write Bulgakov also used to live for a time.
Former palace of Prince Dolgorukov and now an Arts Gallery.
This plaque marks another ancient (at least 100 year old) shop sign found and restored.
A monument to sculptor Mukhina.
A different kind of statue.
That's all for now, folks, but the adventures are to be continued naturally.
